Desalegn Fantaye, Amputated Victim of Yesterday’s Rally Attack, Tells Visiting President “It’s a Sacrifice for My Country, Please Take Care of Abiy, Standby Him!”


Desalegn Fantaye, whose leg was amputated today after yesterday’s attack at the rally held to support the new Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, has told President of Ethiopia Mulatu Teshome, who was visiting the hospital today that  “It’s a sacrifice paid for the love of the country. Please Take Care of Him, Standby Him! He cannot do anything alone and I am cured by his speech.”

Today Ethiopian State TV, ETV, announced that the number of people detained in connection with yesterday blast, which so far has killed 2 and wounded over 150 people, has reached 30.
