Sudanese Bashir awarded “African Dignity Champion” in Ethiopia


Addis Ababa, July 29, 2016 (FBC) – The African Dignity Forum honored Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and President Omer Al-Bashir of Sudan at a ceremony held at the Addis Ababa University today.

Prime Minister Hailemariam was honored for his contribution in seeking African solutions for African conflicts.

Federal and Pastoralist Affairs Development Minister, Kassa Teklebirhan, received the award on behalf of the Premier.

Similarly, President Omer Al-Bashir was given “African Dignity Champion” award for his contribution in adopting principles that reject the foreign intervention in the African affairs.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Al-Bashir called for preserving gains made by efforts of the predecessors and preparing environment for the coming generations to know the great goals that achieves dignity for Africa.

Minister of Federal and Pastoralist Affairs Development, Kassa Teklebirhan, on his part said,“Nobody, except Africans, could be part of the primary solutions for African problems.”

The African Dignity Forum is a partnership between the United Nations University of Peace, Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the AAU Peace and Conflicts Studies Institute and the Sudanese Peace and Human Rights Centre.
