Kilinto Prison, South of Addis Abeba, has denied Befeqadu Hailu of the Zone 9 Bloggers Collective from visiting prioners of conscience, some of whom are his colleagues and former co-prisoners.
The blogger tweeted earlier today that his copied Identity Card was given to the guards on the door to deny him entry whenever he comes to visit prisoners.
#Qilinto prison administrators prohibited me from entering to visit friends. My copied ID is given to the guards to stop me on the door.

It is a common practice of Ethiopian prison administrations to deny entry or visit rights. Family members or potentially useful visitors are banned visits in order to deprive and disconnect the prisoners. Some of these visitors are close members of the family, who fetch fresh food to the prisoners on a daily basis.
It is to be recalled that the younger sister of journalist Reeyot Alemu, released last year, has been permanently denied from visiting her sister or fetching her food.
