Fauzia Yusuf Haji Adan is among 10 politicians joining a cabinet that has been significantly reduced in size and to be the first female Foreign Minister. Ms Adan hails from the self-declared independent state of Somaliland and lived for a long time in Britain, AFP reports. “My nomination as the foreign minister is historic for the Somali country and particularly for the women of Somalia, it turns a new page for the political situation of our country and will lead to success and prosperity,” she said.

Reports reaching Ogaden Online service desk from the town of Fiq confirm the defection of up to 14 Ethiopian trained militia known as ‘Liyu police’. Reports add that this militia escaped with all their military gear including some BKM’s. The Fourteen defecting Militias who escaped to ONLF are opposing the Ethiopian regime’s racist policy towards Ogaden civilians. They said that the regime is taking harsh measures against civilian population and anyone who violate the order.
