Ethiopia has begun transporting heavy weaponry to the Northern part of the country since August 11,2012. According to witlessness, the heavy weaponry and arms are being transported to the Ethio-Eritrean border. Over 100 tanks and vehicle and aircraft weapons have been transported from Addis Abeba to North Ethiopia,  observers added.

The Ethiopian Satellite Television and Radio (ESAT) reported two days ago that Ethiopia had ordered its military, the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) to be on standby last week. The Station said both the ground forces, air force received the order three days ago and has been effective since.

ESAT cited sources who speculated that the order might have to do with “the disappearance of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi”. Electricity and internet connection has been cut in most parts of Ethiopia yesterday.

Correspondingly, De Birhan has learnt that members of the  Tigrean Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) have been meeting in Mekele town for the past few days.
